The Cooperative C.R.I.S.I. through the funding of the Criminal Justice Programme, aims to promote the development of Mediation and Restorative Justice, the services victims assistance and programs of social rehabilitation of offenders.
Activities
The work program will consist of 3 macro-areas of intervention:
MEDIATION ACTIVITY: mediation activity sees crime as the breaking of a social bond and aims to achieve a process of self – assumption of responsibility of the offender towards the offense and the victim, recognizing the victim in his/her personal experience suffering.
TRAINING ACTIVITY: it is achieved through the activation of 1 high professionalization and specialization course of criminal mediation. The course will be structured in 22 sessions, each divided into 2 stages, a theoretical one and a practical – experiential one.
WORKSHOP ACTIVITY: it consists of the theatre workshop organizing "Between Theatre and Mediation" aimed at Penalty Area children submitted to the Institute of probation and alternative measures to detention.
AWARENESS ACTIVITY: It is addressed to the community with the aim to promote the law education, the peaceful resolution of conflicts, the creation of victim assistance service.
ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY: this activity aims to test the correspondence between the planned activities and the purposes indicated.
Objectives
The objectives underlying the work programme are:
- promote effective implementation of the support policy for victims of crime which protects especially those most vulnerable: young people, elderly, women;
- encourage mediation and conciliation procedures for victim-offender;
- adopt forms of extra-judicial and peaceful resolution of conflicts;
- develop a protocol and an ethical code to be adopted in services assistance to victims.
High professionalization and specialization course "Rights of victim and criminal mediation"
Training activities provide for a theoretical stage divided into 12 modules of 5 hours each and a practical-experiential stage divided into 10 meetings from 8 hours each, which provides intensive training to practice of mediation.
Results
From January to December 2011, the C.R.I.S.I. Cooperative, carried out the following actions aimed at the promotion of mediation and restorative justice, victim assistance services and programs of social reintegration of offenders.
MEDIATION ACTIVITY: the mediation cases handled were 36.
TRAINING ACTIVITY: High specialization and professionalization course in criminal mediation and victims' rights. The training was structured into 22 working sessions, 12 theoretical sessions and 10 practical-experiential sessions.
WORKSHOP ACTIVITY: theatre workshop "Between theatre and mediation" was addressed to 18 minors of criminal area, subjects to the Institute of criminal probation and alternatives measures to detention and 9 operators.
AWARENESS ACTIVITY:
- the organization of 1 ending conference entitled "Between the theatre and mediation";
Conference flyer - the publication of didactic material of teaching activities carried out during 2011 in the review "Mediares" (The paper copy can be asked C.R.I.S.I.'s Cooperative Administration);

"Between theatre and mediation" - The circulation of activities reports at national and international bodies.
ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY: all project activities have been constantly monitored and valued by an independent external evaluator, in order to verify the correspondence between the planned activities and the project aims.
